NAFRAT - WHY

LEARNING - CYCLING

SECOND LIEUTENANT (2Lt)

2/Lt in army was a unique creature. Fresh from academy, in his early twenties, he thought no end of himself in terms of military knowledge and wisdom of the world. It is a different matter that he was not consulted and neither his advice or suggestions sought by any one in the battalion from a JCO to the Commanding Officer on any issue military or non military and that hurt his ego in a big way. And if 2/Lt was appointment holder in the academy the hurt was more. The only way to assuage the ego was when he passed by the troops and was saluted by the rank and file. That is the only time he had realization that he continued to remain an officer and 'all is well' a la three idiots.

TABLIGHI JAMAAT

What is the Tablighi Jamaat?
"There is a culture of secretism in the organization, which develops suspicion," once said Ajit Doval, current NSA. "The movement was never viewed adversely by the government."

The Tablighi Jama'at was founded in 1926 in Mewat, India, by Maulana Muhammad Ilyas, an Islamic scholar and teacher. The movement began as an effort to counteract the activities of Hindu revivalists in India, who at the time were attempting to convert Muslims to Hinduism.

PROUD INDIANS

A prayer to my countrymen

For decades there had existed a very strong international lobby which along with few moles in India never wanted India to remain at slot no 4 at the time of our independence. India did go down in ranking but not the Indians.

We rose to 1948. We rose to 62. We rose to 65, 71, Kargil and what have you. We rose to nuclear power and space. We rose to disasters. We rose to global slow downs. We rose to help others across the globe. We have gone through it all, though with love hate relationships.

DEFENCE PENSIONS - WHY HIGHER

The Truth about Rising Defence Pensions

There is considerable commotion in media over the rising defence pension outlay which has touched Rs 1.33 lakh crore.  There are headlines like "General Rawat Favours Pension Cut, Colonial Bungalows to go Away" as if the two are connected and auction of colonial bungalows will supplement pension bill, defence budget or money for managing cantonments – which will never happen as proceeds will go into union coffers as clarified by the defence minister, now heading Ministry of Finance (MoF) That being a separate issue, rising defence pension outlay no doubt is cause for serious concern

CHOO CHOO

This is not 1962 and Rajiv Gandhi Foundation does not look after our war efforts. We have an edge over you and a big one at that Land Forces - you have 175,000 troops for entire Western Theatre including Russia and Central Asian nations. Lets say you commit all of them vs India. You will have none for Xinjiang and Tibet pacification. Even if you commit all. You cannot supply them because G219 is very far from LAC in many areas except Askai Chin. G219 supply lines are 500-1000s of km. You have nothing with which to supply them in Tibet

LOST CITIES OF PUNJABIs

  1. Punjabi Ignorance

We, the Punjabis historically have not been documenting our own history. The Muslim Punjabis have almost forgotten their genetic ancestry and now try to connect their gene pool to the Arab aristocracy of Sayeds and Qureshis. The Pakistan government ignorantly names its missiles after the Islamic invaders who dispossessed their ancestors from their land. The Hindu Punjabis have written off their own ancestors, warriors kings, and Gurus and relate more to the Middle-India heroes such as Rama, Krishna, and Shivaji,

He was busy launching a Long Range Patrol (LRP) to Siachen and I was lucky to be shown around in a MI 8 Sortie   unbelievably beautiful 76 Km long  Siachen Glacier surrounded by some of the most scenic peaks of Karakoram. When we approached Indira Col I could see the Second  Highest Peak in the World, the K2. From Indira Col I could also see the Shaksgam Valley which was ceded to China by Pakistan in 1963. The Lovely peaks of Apsara Ranges were being attempted by Foreigners, on explicit permission from Pakistan and it was to prevent this Cartographic Aggression, the Karakoram Wing of Ladakh Scouts under Col Rao was tasked to lead the LRP to Siachen. My battalion 4 KUMAON meanwhile was busy taking over the Area of Turtuk which included Chalunka and Tyakshi , the areas captured in 1971.

GALWAN

TUTORIAL ON GALWAN EPISODE OF NIGHT 15/16 JUNE REVISITED
By Col Rajinder Singh, 3 Bihar

In the fog of war, a lot of misinformation flies. Ill-informed but self styled defence experts and politicians always push through home made theories . Some of these so called experts had perhaps never ever seen high altitude terrain in their entire life or service careers. But they must appear on TV channels to narrate true lies . This is what had happened about the scuffle that ensued between Indian and Chinese troops in Galwan valley of Eastern Ladakh on 15/16 June 2020.

Here is some info about Gen. Bakshi-   Here are some glimpse of his credentials:

His community is known as "Bulldog of the borders" (and was first to engage all the invaders which tried to enter India from north west frontiers from 1000s of years, his ancestors defeated the invading Arab armies 1000s of years back, even fought the famous battle of Karbala).

HINDI ALPHABETS

Many of us may not even know that the alphabet of Indian languages is full of science.  Each letter of the alphabet is logical and placed sequentially with precise calculations.  Such a scientific view is not ingrained in the alphabet of other foreign languages  e.g.  See:

*क ख ग घ ઙ* - This group of five is called *kanthavya* because the sound comes out of the throat while pronouncing this.  Try pronouncing.

Rig Veda mentions that the greatest service to God is to spread the spirit of Vedas with honesty, straight-forwardness, without deceit of any kind, for all to enjoy true and spiritual happiness.

"OM Khamm Brahma" OM Thy name is God who is "Ek OM kar"- the only One God, Wise men describe Thee by many different names, including Vishwakarma- the Great  Architect of the Universe..

SOLDIER VS CIV

*Why a soldier and a civilian cannot be compared.*

My dear folks, 'Robert Greene' wrote in his book - *33 Strategies of War* - that the best way to motivate men in war is not through reasons, but through invoking emotions. Manipulation of human emotion is the art of military leadership.

Normally human-beings are defensive by nature, often logic makes them meek. If soldiers start reasoning the consequences of their actions during an attack, they will succumb to their own fears.

JRD TATA

When JRD Tata was just 25 years old, an interesting news item in the London Times newspaper caught his attention. A unique air race had just been announced, by His Highness The Aga Khan, spiritual leader of the Shia Imami Ismaili Muslims, to popularize aviation and flying in India. The announcement read :

"The Aga Khan has offered through the Royal Aero Club, a prize of UK Pounds 500, for the first flight from England to India, or vice-versa, by a person of Indian nationality. It must be a solo flight, completed within six weeks, from the date of starting. The prize will remain open for one year from 1st January 1930."
