When an old man died in the geriatric ward of a nursing home in an Australian country town, it was believed that he had nothing left of any value.

Later, when the nurses were going through his meager possessions, They found this poem. Its quality and content so impressed the staff that copies were made and distributed to every nurse in the hospital.

In the fog of war, a lot of misinformation flies. Ill-informed but self styled defence experts and politicians always push through home made theories. 

Some of these so called experts had perhaps never ever seen high altitude terrain in their entire life or service careers. But they must appear on TV channels to narrate true lies. This is what had happened about the scuffle that ensued between Indian and Chinese troops in Galwan Valley of Eastern Ladakh on 15/16 June 2020. 

Galwan in Kashmiri dialect means "Strong Man" or a Pehelwan (Wrestler). The river emanates at AKSAI Chin and flows East to West for 80 Kms through gorges of high mountains at 17,000 feet. It joins Shyok River in the Shyok Valley. 

HOLIKA DAHAN - MULTAN

*Holi*  originated from Multan Bharat, but from 1947 after a brutal  partition, it's now in Pakistan, where the last ruins of the ancient Prahladpuri Temple still exists after it was destroyed by a Jihadi mob in 1992.  Do not forget this when burning the *Holika Dahan* with your family for Holi. 

A civilisation that forgets it's history is never forgiven.

Last week, my hubby and I decided to visit an old friend of my dad living in Delhi. He is a retired officer from the Indian army. Very fine couple, well spoken, very well read and widely travelled! They had a son who they lost during the Kargil war, but they never show any trace of Pain on their face.

Pak has an org under DGISPR dedicated to spreading disinformation against India and impacting it's internal fabric. India needs to establish a similar org to counter Pak in its own way. While it has the resources, it needs to create a political climate.

ARE YOU A DUCK OR AN EAGLE?

 

I was at the airport when a taxi driver approached. The first thing I noticed in the taxi was a sentence, which read: Are you a Duck or an Eagle? You decide.

The second thing I noticed was a clean and shiny cab, the driver well dressed, white shirt and pressed pants, with a tie. The taxi driver got out, opened the door for me and said: "I am John, your chauffeur. While I keep your luggage, I would like you to read on this card what my mission is.

On the card was written:-

It is funny how the whole world believes that the 7 day week is a western concept!

7 day week is not a concept borrowed from Romans as it is generally believed.

Many of us would have heard about the destruction of Somnath Temple in Gujrat by Mahmud Ghazni, ruler of Ghazni (located in present day Afghanistan) in 1026 CE. However, the true significance of this battle has never been told to us. On the anniversary of this epic battle, this short write-up is my humble tribute to the 50,000 brave hearts who sacrificed their life in this battle as also to the countless others who braved a millennium of persecution to ensure that the flame does not extinguish.

Ever since I went to school, I have heard that Mahatma Gandhi was a barrister. Since then I thought that he must be very educated, very wise. Later I came to know that Gandhiji was able to get only one educational certificate in his entire life, which is the matriculation certificate. In 1887 Gandhiji somehow passed matriculation in the Third Division! In those days, to be a barrister, you didn't have to pass any exams. He could have become a member of the Bar Association as a barrister if he had worked for some time as an assistant to an elderly and experienced barrister. But even for this post .......
