POWER OF MONEY

Remember Hindi Film 'Chalti ka naam gadi'? It was for it's one scene and dialog spoken by villain KN Singh who was a filthy rich man by dubious means, I still cherish the movie. In the scene, his goons are seen dragging a female whose father was a rich but defenceless man whom he got murdered.

She is cursing and screeching at him. But he wanted all her father's property. His young lieutenant, walking beside asks him "Rai Saheb. You are so wealthy having huge property and wealth. Why do you indulge in such kind of sinful acts to make more money?". KN Singh with usual wicked half smile which explains THE POWEROF MONEY in today's world, saying "Look, it's the Rich who already have plenty ofmoney, need more money and will do anything to make it. A poor man, after a hard days work, will be happy to get enough food to fill his belly, & then, will have restful sleep".

This is the eternal truth of present day society where everything seems to have a price. Look at the past chairperson of the biggest private Indian bank and her husband. Having been caught indulging in unethical and illegal practices to make more money, though they already had more than what they could have used in their entire lifetime, now being grilled by ED for nine hours on a daily basis. Horrific indeed. Look at Gandhi family. Every adult is on BAIL. Look at Laloo, in jail for eating away fodder money meant for poor cattle. Look at Chidambaram getting bail, 25^th time I am told and his son and family. Seeing all this, both Neerav and Malya must be cursing their decision to leave India thinking they would be safe outside India. Poor Neerav, his bail application rejected third time by that grand lady magistrate of London and spending time for last 2-3 months in London Jail along with ordinary mortals. Had they remained in India, bail would have been home delivered by his lordships themselves at their homes.

Worst is MEDIA. You can get anything written, published, highlighted on TV channels and newspapers being repeated senselessly for days together, ignoring important news or information. I do not wish to name any particular journalist or reporter or channels indulging in selective highlights as per the money paid. And mind you it is so obvious. I take different papers in home and office. News coverage is almost always totally different. I am sure they have different price tags for different aspects of news coverage.

And I thought International media was different and of repute. No, they are Not. They are the same. Recently, I was shocked to see an article in a widely circulated magazine of  'repute', perhaps century old, denigrating to one of the greatest statesman in present day world. Article written by a Pakistani journalist. The idea itself is reprehensible that a Pakistani Journalist writes for the most popular self-made Indian respected the world over, revered by vast majority of Indians and foreigners alike. Anyone with even little sense of fairness, could have seen the article intentionally denigrating, malicious, full of lies and half-truths, intentionally written by a group of people to malign the country's reputation and standing generated by Modi in last five years. Not only that, many recent articles published in so called reputed papers like New York Times, The Guardian, Washington Post etc. Sensing that it is election time in India and some political parties have tons of unaccounted cash, will pay any amount to change the course of People's verdict. They never saw anything wrong in last FIVE YEARS and at the fag end, when it's certain that he shall get another term, suddenly we find foreign media deeply interested in Indian Politics writing all the nonsense against India, Hindus and Modi. Well, you don't need a degree in rocket science to guess who is financing and paying for it? God bless them for having woken up late.
