*The strange case of Defence Officer found with a brain*
( Note: This is not a piece to seek any sympathy but to tell all that
despite your date of Birth being 08 and all challenges thrown at you life
is worth living. I hope readers will learn lessons of life rather than
either question my posting it on social media of expressing sympathy.)
It was around 2013 that I started to suffer from constant headaches and
after rounds of all specialists In the MH it was a young Naval Doctor in MH
Khadki who put me wiser to the issue.
He simply said there are 1001 reasons for headaches and left it at that
and prescribed normal headache medication. He apparently was neither aware
of the fact that constant headaches over long periods needed further
investigation or that there was a need to do any specific tests. I presume
he had presumed "Fauji Hay Dimag to hoga hee nahee." Just wondering about
his own.
So this triggered me to find out what the hell was causing my headaches. I
was convinced it was beyond normal routine stuff.
So I switched to my parallel medical support system and met my Family
Physician. He had known me since my Heart stoppage days and was now a
friend. He probably guessed I had a brain ordered a Brain MRI.
Yes my heart had stopped and on me waking 72 hrs later up my doctor
found me smiling. He asked me why I was smiling and my answer was " One
Yamdoot has lost his jobs simply due one alphabet being placed wrongly he
landed up to pick the wrong guy. The alphabet is H and it makes a
difference where it is placed in my name PATHAK. No offence meant to all
the PHATAKS but that was on a lighter vein.
The MRI report came and lo behold they found a brain an in a Fauji but
unfortunately that brain had a swelling. Till then I never thought I had a
swollen head.
Almost three years of immune suppressants treatment and I was free from
headaches. Delighted!
But if I was not to be surprised then I would not be I. That glee lasted
just 3 months and here i am back with my headaches but now I know what was
wrong. I had a brain and it was playing up.
I was again reminded of my date of Birth being 8. ( Nemerologists will
understand)
Now I have finally been told that I have an autoimmune disease that is
likely to go with me when time comes.
Ha ha. What a relief to learn that its cause not cancer/TB/Meninginoma
or VD and it is just a rare disease known as Idiopathic patch meninges with
no known cause and definitive curative treatment BUT it was not life
threatening and that I can continue my work as normally as possible given
the side effects of the suppressants.
God is great is what Mother –n- law would have said.
So guys I continue with a swollen head literally but not figuratively.
That is life. ह्याला जीवन ऐसे नाव

People often ask me what can we do for the soldiers? The answer is "be an
Indian who is worth fighting for."
See if you can be one.
I have enemies? Good. That means I've stood up for something, sometime in
my life.
