The Indian National Army trials (INA trials), which are also called the Red Fort trials, were the British Indian trial by courts-martial of a number of officers of the Indian National Army (INA) between November 1945 and May 1946, for charges variously for treason, torture, murder and abetment to murder during World War II. In total, approximately ten courts-martial were held. The first of these, and the most celebrated one, was the joint court-martial of Colonel Prem Sahgal, Colonel Gurbaksh Singh Dhillon, and Major General Shah Nawaz Khan. The three had been officers

Mr Waseem Rizvi, former Chief of UP Shia Central Waqf Board, has filed a petition in the Supreme Court of India seeking for scrapping of 26 verses from the Quran that allegedly "promote terrorism, violence, jihad" and were not part of the original Quran but inserted at a later stage.

As soon as the news came in the public domain, all hell broke lose. Mr Rizvi was made out to be a pariah by his own community. There are Fatwas galore against him. Some radicals have even announced bounty on his head.

Mr Pratap Bhanu Mehta, the Professor, recently quit from Ashok University in Haryana. He is of the opinion that we live in the complicated times. Yes, complicated times when a Congress ruled state is protecting a criminal shamelessly. Yes, complicated times when some Indian political parties exhort voters to vote for Pakistan but not to BJP....

I fully agree with the professor. We are not only living in the complicated times, we are living in dangerous times. We are living in violent times and in times when the evil is upset and unforgiving. The status quo has been challenged and the process of muck cleaning is leaving behind a trail of suffocating stench. The mafia has been pulled out of the comfort zone....

In India, it's never about ideology. It is only about civilisation. And to put it on record this is why PM Modi faces a massive smear campaign from a powerful lobby. But this did not start in 2014. It started long ago, we have to go back by centuries to understand this.

 

India wasn't born in 1947, because unlike many other countries we got independent and were not created afresh. Therefore, what happened before 1947 is as important as what happened after 1947.

27th December 2011 would have been our forty-third wedding anniversary. But we didn't make it. We ran out of time on 22nd September. On that day I stepped into a strange new world. NAVAL UPRISING FEB 1946

* Not many of us will remember that today is the 75th anniversary of the Indian naval mutiny /uprising against the British rule /Royal Indian Naval officers(british)*. 

The prime mover of the uprising was one BC Dutt. The nerve center of the uprising was in Bombay based ships. In 1946 the civilian population of Bombay also supported it. Aruna Asaf Ali, a politician of yester years had supported the movement. The uprising continued in Bombay for 4-5days and for the first time, the blood of men in uniform and civilians was spilled in a common cause. Lest we forget

On a balmy Bombay afternoon, the waves lapping against the hull of the INNS Talwar echoed in the deserted alleyway inside. Radio Operator First Class Mansoor Khan strode purposefully towards the communication room.

"We condemn his act of terror and apologise and hope we are not punished for it" - - resolution passed by *Congress !* He was *Shaheed Udham Singh* and the senseless deed he did was that he killed *Michael Dwyer.*

Michael was the *monster* who massacred 1526 innocent unarmed peaceful Indians in *Jalian wala Bagh in 1919.*

TOKYO TRIALS - 1948

Remembered in Japan, forgotten in India........

The day was 12 November, 1948. Tokyo Trials are going on in a huge garden house on the outskirts of Tokyo, the trial of fifty-five Japanese war criminals including Japan's then Prime Minister Tojo, after losing WWII.
Of these, twenty-eight people have been identified as Class-A (crimes against peace) war criminals. If proved, the only punishment is the "death penalty".

GENERAL THIMAYYA - SOLDIER'S GENERAL

General Thimayya, resigned on 31Aug 1959 for differences with Nehru and Krishna Menon over NEFA. There was a scare of military take over. Nehru persuaded him to withdraw his resignation. Two days later Nehru humiliated him in Parliament. The Indian army experienced its worst ever defeat during the Indo-China conflict of 1962. This excerpt from Shiv Kunal Verma's thoroughly researched book shows how Nehru and Krishna Menon conspired to discredit General Thimayya, setting in motion a chain of events that contributed to India's rout in the Himalayas.
