TALE OF TWO MARTYRS

A tale of two martyrs.
Lt Umar Fayyaz and Maj DavidManlun
Both in their 20s. Both young bright and fearless.
Isnt that what the IndianArmy is made up of?
#Blood #Guts and #Glory
Vir Bhogya Vasundhara.
But what sets them apart?
Lt Fayyaz was abducted on the 10th May 2017 from his home while he was on leave attending a
family function. His bullet ridden body was recovered after 2 days.
The nation condemned this killing and rightly so. No one deserves to die the way LtUmarFayyaz died. A million Candles were lit. A full course of  National Defense Academy organised a solidarity march in memory of the young officer. Eulogies were sung and the youngster all of 22 was declared a Martyr. A role model for all youngsters to follow. An example to be emulated

A top Army commander  met the family members of Lieutenant Umar Fayaz, assuring them that the culprits will be punished soon and the young soldier's sacrifice will not go waste.
He also said the Army will always stand by them.

"He is a hero because his battle started five years back when he decided to join the NDA.... He has fought that battle successfully and his death will not go waste,"
The commander told the bereaved family that Fayaz was a martyr and that people, even though silent, were with them.

He announced that the army school in Behibagh will be named after Fayaz. The army commander handed over a cheque of Rs 75 lakh under the army group insurance fund to Fayaz's parents.
Cut to just one month later on  6th Jun 2017
A brave Indian army soldier #MajorDavidManlun  was martyred while leading his team to hunt down the militants in Nagaland.  Maj Manlun hailed from Churachandpur district in Manipur. His father, subedar (retired) Khamzalam, served in the Assam Regiment . Maj Manlun was a student of St Anthony's School in Shillong, Meghalaya. He followed the footsteps of his father to join the Indian army. Major David Manlun was from 2 NAGA battalion, he was posted with 164 Territorial Army
On that fateful night  The encounter took place at around 12.30 am when a combined team of the Para commandos and the Naga Territorial Army combed  an area close to Lapa Lempong after receiving reports about the movement of a group of militants belonging to the Paresh Baruah faction of ULFA and SS Khaplang faction of the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN-K). As per the sources, during the action, he was leading his men from the front. He took the first bullet to save his men under his command.
Major David Manlun killed 4 ULFA militants before making the supreme sacrifice, we salute to the courage of the brave young officer.

No candles were lit in his memory,
No eulogies were sung for the young lion. He killed 4 militants mind you. He fought to the true traditions and ethos of the #IndianArmy. Last Man Last Round.
A soldier never quits until he is dead..
Where are praises for this brave son of the nation?
Where are the 75 lacs from the AGIF for his next of kin?  He was a battle casualty FYI. Killed in action.
Is a school in Churachandpur or Shillong going to be named after #MajDavidManlun?
How is the nation remembering his sacrifice?  Did the nation even know about his existence that they will remember him in his martyrdom?
Newsportals refer to him as a civilian officer deputed with the territorial army. A noted website which trains the youth for SSBs says that his father was a subedar in the AssamRifles. No. His father served in the #AssamRegiment. Which is different from the #AssamRifles.
We wished #LtFayyaz on his birthday today. He would have been 23.
#MajDavid leaves behind a bereaved family   in Shillong. Have we spared a thought for them?

If not ,then ask yourself ladies and gentlemen. Question yourself on why is there a difference in #Martyrdom.
