Let us know some such tips, by taking care of which you can avoid fraud related to Aadhar card.
Follow these tips
- Never share your Aadhaar number with any unknown or unauthorized person.
- Never share your One Time Password (OTP) with any person or agency. No representative from UIDAI asks for OTP through call, email or SMS. So do not share OTP with anyone.
- UIDAI also recognizes the digital Aadhaar card. So, instead of printing the base, you can also save the digital copy in your mobile or laptop. If you're downloading it on a public machine, don't forget to delete the local copy.
- For basic verification and other features, register your mobile number. If you have not yet registered or changed your number, then go to your nearest center and get it updated.
- While submitting the documents, do not forget to mention its purpose.
- For example, if you are sharing the photocopy of your Aadhar card for opening a bank account, then write 'Identity proof for account opening only at <XYZ> bank' on it.
- Now you can also track your Aadhar card history by visiting the official website of UIDAI. With this you will be able to know the details of where the Unique Identification Code was used.
- You can also visit the official website of UIDAI to check whether it has the Aadhaar biometric lock or unlock system to protect the privacy of your Aadhaar data.
- You should regularly check your Aadhaar transaction by logging on to the official website of UIDAI.
- Update your Aadhaar details only by visiting the UIDAI Authorized Centres.
